An award and here I sit without a ball gown

Color me genuinely surprised when I found out that I had received the Superior Scribblers award from one of my favorite blogs, Godless Liberal Homo. I’ve often found myself quoting information I’ve discovered on GLH’s site to friends and including links to his posts in my weekly WTF! post. When my blog grows up I’d be honored if it could be just like Godless Liberal Homo.
Like everything else in life this award comes with rules so here they are:
***************************************************************************
- Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends.
- Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.
- Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog, and link to This Post, which explains The Award.
- Each Blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit this post (above) and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List. That way, we’ll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!
- Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.
***************************************************************************
Now comes the hard part, passing this prestigious award on to five deserving bloggers. Actually the hard part is limiting my choices to five. Without further whining or preamble, here are the five blogs (in no particular order) that I feel deserve the Superior Scribbler Award.
Boy Grows Up ~ this blogger deals with the tough issues. Not only does he write openly and honestly about his recovery from crystal meth, but he addresses an issue that most of us are unaware of, anonymous harrassment. Not every post he writes is easy to read, but my admiration for the person he is becoming grows with each of those tough posts. His openness is inspiring in someone like me who tends to hold my cards close to my chest most of the time.
The Web Pen Blog ~ Howard writes a blog that sends me into fits of giggles with a fair regularity. He manages to incorporate humor, musical commentary and more in a way that keeps me coming back for more. I’m still hoping for a chance to get to Denver to see him do standup one of these days…
Jestertunes ~ Jester authors one of the more entertaining and fun blogs around. He manages to incorporate politics, queer life, humor and everyday life in a way that makes it enjoyable to read. Not only does he have a great blog, but he also has a hilarious and raucous talk show on internet radio from time to time. Give Jester a read (and a listen) and you won’t be sorry.
Maggie’s Mind ~ I discovered Maggie by participating in the Thursday 13 meme. Hers is one of those great blogs you read that really defies description. One day I’d say it was a food blog, the next a photography blog and the next a personal blog and then there’s Haiku Friday. One thing I can say is that I keep coming back for more!
Spirit of Saint Lewis ~ Lewis is a great blogger and some of his posts have caused me to spit coffee across the room in laughter. Sometimes I wonder if we share the same brain cells because there are posts he has written that could have been written by me – probably has something to do with both of us coming from the same area in eastern Oregon/western Idaho. Lewis also has the dubious honor of being the first blogger that became a friend through this crazy blogging process.
So there you have it, the five blogs that I give the Superior Scribblers award. I think this would have been easier if I could have passed it out to my top twenty thirty forty one hundred blogs. Oh well, next time…

Oh my gosh, really, me? I’m totally honored. Thank you also for such very kind words. I have no clue how to describe in a one word category what the hell I do over there, either.

Ahhhh… thank you so much. I would have thank you last night, but you know… Mom’s here.
Seriously though, I’m glad someone is getting a giggle out of the blog. I really does make it worth while.

Wow, Chris. I’m just bowled over about your words. It made my week — seriously! And for the record, this blog is the first one I click over to every day. Without exception. You know, to see what my neighbor is up to:) Happy Turkey Day!
