Even if the crazy/cool eyelashes kept mesmerizing me, the message was clear. A “civil union” just doesn’t have quite the same ring to it (pun kind of not intended), and since ours is a nation with separation of church and state, any prejudices on religious grounds should have no merit as far as the law is concerned. I’m still so shocked by California on this one. And Arkansas, too, for taking hatred a step further even. Gah. This stuff makes me so sad and angry.
