Anybody get the number of that truck?

Why is it that I’m always writing posts that I didn’t set out that day to write? I rolled in to work this morning planning to set up the training room for the class I have tomorrow and then do some editing work on the new version of our product manual that needs to come out next month. I even dressed up, well at least for me it was dressing up. The new overlords were supposed to be in town this week (our acquisition was final last Friday) for meetings and I figured I might as well look nice if I ran into any of them.
I posted my Monday meme and got busy working in the training room after I cleared out google reader. Then I get a “mandatory” meeting request with HR for 10am and I look at who’s included in the attendees and I know that it’s all over but the crying. As of 10am, I am officially unemployed along with S, my sushi buddy, M my fellow instructor and MPP. Interestingly enough three of the four of us are queer and the only queers on the team. Hmmmm… Wonder if the homophobic R4BB had anything to do with that one? M has the misfortune to be a foreigner, you know how they are… Unfortunately M is on vacation in Europe and not due back in the office until the 12th of November. Quite the surprise in store for him…
Anyone need a technical software trainer in the Seattle metro area? Tolerance for blogging a plus, oh and if you also need an E-Learning Devloper so that sushi buddy Sue can come along and a project manager so that our old boss J can join us all the better.
Bad news over, carry on with your day!

GAH! This world is just screwed up, big time….pressures, the economy, family issues, jobs (or the lack of them)….I’m so sorry, man. Really.

OMG….that’s awful! I’m so sorry! Who do you have to screw to get your job back? (just kidding…I kid, I kid). Seriously, sorry about the bad news. Hope something better turns up for you!

Sorry to hear about that! Good luck in the search and I agree with the other post too, it is like Christmas Eve!

Oh my gosh. I’m sorry. That totally sucks. I hope that you will be able to get unemployment checks until you find a place that both pays well and is enjoyable. Even times when I’ve seen it coming, there is nothing to really quite prepare you for the shock when it actually happens. And it’s worse when you don’t see it coming. Ugh. Sorry. Good luck.

I’m so sorry. You are the third person I know to lose their job this week. I hope it leads to bigger and better things for you! (((HUGS)))

Steve ~ thanks, yes, I’m fine – unfortunately I’ve been through this before. Bad timing, but they didn’t ask my input.
Lewis ~ thanks! I’ve been practicing for my new career options all afternoon “you want fries with that” and “sucky sucky 5 dollah” come to mind
Jewelz ~ thanks, but considering who I’d have to screw I’ll cash the severance check…
David ~ thanks. christmas eve and your birthday eve all rolled into one
Maggie ~ I thought it was coming months ago and then got lulled into a state of complacency. Regardless it’s still a shock
Poppingbubbles ~ thanks for the hugs, I need them today. Have to think positively, onward and upward and things happen for a reason, right?

I’m sorry to hear about this, Chris. I love your response to Lewis though. However, in these times I’d suggest raising that to $10. It will be a cold winter.

Can you sue them?
Anyway, I hope things turn out OK.

Mike ~ thanks! It is going to be cold winter, I wonder if I can get 10 bucks – might need to practice a bit first
Libhomo ~ you have to sign away your right to sue to get the crappy severance package.
