13 Upcoming DVD Rentals

Posted by Chris on 9 October, 2008

I’m being lazy with my list again this week since I’m still swamped at the office. I’ve taken a look at my Netflix queue and I’m generating a list of 13 upcoming DVD rentals (out of 377). If you’ve seen the movie your comments would be appreciated.

No idea what’s going on around here today, well don’t be surprised, but I rarely know what’s going on around here either. To alleviate any confusion here are the simple steps to playing along: create a list of 13 items, head over to the Thursday 13 meme hub, post your link and watch the traffic roll in, or at least bump up by one or two.

13 Upcoming DVD Rentals:

  1. Cut Sleeve Boys
  2. TransAmerica
  3. Return to Oz
  4. Penelope
  5. Girl with a Pearl Earring
  6. Poster Boy
  7. The Notebook
  8. Class of Nuke ‘Em High
  9. North Country
  10. Walk the Line
  11. Bush’s Brain
  12. Killer Drag Queens on Dope
  13. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Seasons 1 & 2

The Notebook is good, though not as FANTASTIC as so many people think it is.
Walk the Line was OK, not my fav, but my hubby liked it. Worth watching once, though.

So, have you seen TransAmerica??? If you haven’t, you’re in for a real treat. I absolutely loved it. But I’m still upset that the closing song from the moving (Travelin’ Through by Dolly Parton) didn’t win best song at the awards a few years …Kid Rock won instead…blech)

I saw Walk the Line a couple of years ago and thought it was pretty good. Even though Joaquin Phoenix doesn’t physically resemble Johnny Cash, he did an excellent job of capturing his essence. Reese Witherspoon was very good as well. The actor playing Elvis Presley was thankfully not in the film much because to say his performance was lackluster is being kind.

I haven’t seen a single one of these but I just wanted to say that I read your list, Chris, and I envy at least 13 of the next movies you’re going to see. :)

Qtpies7 ~ thanks, I’ve been iffy about both of those so will have to let you know what I think
Lewis ~ I’ve heard it’s really good and I agree about the song
Malcom ~ I’m interested to see it b/c it got such great reveiws
Jen ~ not sure you should envy so much as pity on some of those LOL

The only one I’ve seen was Walk the Line, and didn’t really care for it. Loved Reese, though.

  7. I remember really liking TransAmerica, The Notebook and Walk the Line. I don’t think I saw the others. Of course, my memory sucks so that I just remember whether I gave thumbs up or thumbs down, so I could watch them all again, and it would be like the first time. :)

Mike ~ I love Reese too and that’s the primary reason it’s on the list
Maggie ~ you sound like my husband lol
