A rose by any other name

Does Bryan need a nickname? On many of the other blogs I read the long suffering spouse/partner has a nickname and I wonder if I shouldn’t do the same for Bryan…
- Cajunvegan has Boog
- Shirley has Poodle
- Lewis has (can’t remember the nickname)
- Mike has the husband
- Erikrubright has the husbear
and there are others as well that I’m not remembering at this moment in time. Any suggestions for poor old nicknameless Bryan? No, Dave, I’m not going to call him Nachos.

I like Nachos!
Although, Bryan works ok too…
Dawg and I have names, so we don’t have to come up with them for each other.

oh dear, you’ve opened a can of worms here. my original post on this was http://spiritofsaintlewis.blogspot.com/2008/01/whats-your-name.html
On the internetS, I typically say my honey, or my hubby. And he is both!

My man has almost as many nicknames as my cats (yes, my life is that way), but I just call him “Tom” (since, um, that’s his name) or my sweetheart on the Interwebz. I vote that you nickname him “Pickles.” No reason.

Boog is short for Booger which was short for the original Booger Bear. After 12 years, I still call him a variation of the pet name he’s had all along (even on my blog). He calls me Peanut Butter Head or Psycho Hose Beast. If he ever called me sweetie or honey, I think I would vomit.

Poppy ~ Unless something good comes along I’m sure he’ll remain Bryan
Lewis ~ I know I’m a bit worried about what suggestions I might get
Maggie ~ Pickles is good, but unfortunately it’s the name of one of our cats…
Cajunvegan ~ I LOVE Psycho Hose Beast

I call him TheHusband because after 16 years (13-1/2 when I started) “boyfriend” doesn’t work. At the time, I wasn’t even using MY real name, so it didn’t feel right to use his.
I’ve only actually used real name once on my blog.

Mike ~ I know, after 15 years boyfriend seems a bit silly to me as well. I’ll probably stick with Bryan b/c that’s how I started out…

Just call him what you want? I actually refer to the husbear as “the husbear” in public from time to time…

Erik ~ he seems to be stuck with Bryan
