What the hell is going on around here anyway?

Well, it’s Thursday and you probably came here expecting to see my first reader inspired Thursday 13 list.  Not to cause you great disappointment, but it’s not happening this week.  Now I know that I may have just ruined your day, but please don’t sob out loud, especially if you’re at work. People will just stare and they might start actually talking to you.  This is not to be encouraged in most environments.

So, yeah, anyway on with the explanations excuses. Things have been crazy at work this week, the R4B* boss (thanks NW, that’s one nickname that’s gonna stick!) has decided that I should run these two hour workshops for two new products that we’re releasing**.  This is all well and good considering that training is my job. Having to write the documentation and learn the product at the same time in five days is not so great.  There is another instructor who actually has in depth knowledge of these products and could have written the documentation and rolled out the workshops without blinking an eye.  Is he doing it? Nope. The extra fun part of this shit sundae is that the curriculum development monkeys have been pushing back and being a pain in the ass on getting the content together.  The demo workshop is this afternoon and I still don’t have a final content revision, if I had any hair left I’d pull that shit right out.

The rumors have been flying around the office that the company has been sold, but the announcement just hasn’t been made yet.  Can’t wait to see what fresh layer of hell that will bring to my life. The R4BB also told me that he’s going to hire a new instructor, he claims that this person will be in charge of new product classes and classes in other locations so I don’t have to travel if I don’t want to. Then I hear the truth from S.  The R4BB is hiring the guy who I replaced almost two years ago.  This guy has over 10 years of experience with the product and I can see that R4BB is just getting things lined up to lay me off in a few months.***  “We don’t need two instructors for the same product and A has so much more experience than Chris so it only makes sense…” Bastard.

Luckily we leave for Vancouver BC tomorrow and our long weekend with the girls.  Can’t wait for good food, good alcohol, strip clubs and gay bars.  Look for pictures next week and have a good weekend without me.
