Urge to kill receeding!
Posted by Chris on 9 July, 2008
Surprisingly after the last two days I go to bed this evening in a fairly good mood. The Jestertunes radio show was a hoot and if you’re not listening and participating in the chat room you’re missing out. In fact we learned these interesting things tonight:
- Karl may or may not have a weak heart
- I may or may not have learned the hard way to use mouthwash after giving head
- The number of tissues Jester needs for cleanup was revealed
- Snowballing, while popular with some, is not as popular with others
For those of you who were concerned (and I know that it was keeping some of you up at night) the tv issue in our household has been resolved. First, thanks to the brilliant suggestion by Maggie I was able to watch the Hell’s Kitchen finale on the web and discovered that my favorite chef won the well deserved prize. Secondly, I’m happy to say that the satellite is once again functional. I stopped by the cable office on my way home from work tonight to find out that the woman on the phone last night was oh so very wrong about several things:
- Even though we have cable internet we would still require a technician visit which not only would cost a significant chunk of change but could not occur before the 28th of July
- The total for the cable tv and cable internet would be about 20 bucks more a month than the satellite and the cable internet instead of 20 bucks less
- Dude no freaking tv until the 28th of July at the earliest… Project freaking Runway starts next week!
So instead of switching to cable I came home and called Dish Network prepared to eat massive crow to have our service turned back on and a new receiver sent out. After working with a very pleasant account specialist our account was turned back on within 5 minutes and she didn’t even make fun of me for cancelling my service for a grand total of 21 hours. Then she transferred me to tech support where the wonderfully intelligent Brenda was able to resolve the issue I was having last night in under 11 minutes. The three guys I talked to last night for over an hour need to get schooled by her obviously. Moral of the story? Satellite in once again coming in crisp and clear and all the recorded programs are still there to be watched at our leisure.
Now that you can all sleep at night again, I’m headed to bed as well.

I’ll sleep better knowing that you are sleeping better.
And it’s amazing how the same company can have people that don’t know and people that do know, and the ratio seems to be about what you said 3:1, and I always get the first 3 first…
I misread the last line and thought you said you were headed to hell. Been a long day here, and my brain stopped at some point, I guess.

Maggie ~ while I’m sure I’m headed to hell, if you believe in it, it’s probably not for this post…

I do not have a weak heart. A weak stomach, perhaps, after I learned what snowballing is, but not a weak heart. Congrats on having TV! And thanks for letting me know that Project Runway is starting back up!

Karl ~ I thought that Tracy had weakened your heart after a few of the things she said last night

I know you were dying to know how many tissues it takes. Minimum of three for the record.
