Tell me where to go!
Posted by Chris on 2 July, 2008
Once again I throw myself upon the mercy of you, my gentle readers (or not so gentle, let’s be honest I like it rough). On the 18th of July, Bryan and I are joining T-bone, Trixie and Nettie on a train ride to Vancouver, BC for a long weekend. The trip is to celebrate both Trixie’s 29th (cough cough) birthday and Bryan and my 15th anniversary (which was actually in February). All of us except Nettie have been to Vancouver many times over the years. So here’s where you come in…
What are your favorite things to do in Vancouver? Where are the can’t miss spots? We’re staying at the Sylvia Hotel near Stanley park and won’t have a car, so everything we do must be accessible by walking, cabbing or taking the Skytrain. We’ll have all day Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday to play before the train ride back to Seattle. So far we have the Granville Market on the list of things to do and we of course want to hit some of the queer clubs on Friday and Saturday evenings. Also we might be interested in hitting a strip club or two, both male and female – so if you know of any good ones…
So there it is gang, hit me with your best suggestions and help me plan our trip.

I have only been to Vancouver once, years ago. Please post after the trip to tell ME where to go.
Have fun!

Sizzle ~ I will, but isn’t that the opposite of how I envisioned this working?

My partner (family is from BC) says he is jealous you are staying in that gorgeous hotel. He says it has more character than any hotel he knows of in Vancouver and has the best eye candy at Happy Hour. He says the strip clubs in Vancouver are 100% nekkid, so again–here comes the jealousy. There is a fantastic Greek restaurant on Davy Street he says you should ask the locals about. And finally, he said check out whether there are any free concerts in the ampitheatre in Stanley Park.
Hell, now I’m jealous too.
Have fun. 15 years! You two deserve it.

NW ~ we’ve never stayed at the Sylvia, though Trixie & T-bone have and highly recommend it. We usually stay at Hotel Vancouver right downtown, but will be fun to try somewhere different. Eye candy at Happy Hour? Gonna have to get my liver back from being on strike it sounds like. Will have to check out the greek place and we want to find some strip clubs, our visit to the Sands last winter was disappointing. Thanks for the info!
