Idol Thoughts

Finally it’s done, what some have been referring to as the final season of American Idol has come to an end, the king has been crowned and his name is David. Just in case some of you live under a rock and haven’t seen the finale yet I won’t spoil it for you.
As we were watching the show tonight I had several thoughts:
- Bryan Adams is almost as hot as he was 20 years ago when I lusted after him in high school
- George Michael has not aged nearly as well as Bryan Adams
- Amanda Overmeyer looked pissed off almost every time the camera focused on her. She stomped her way through the choreography and at times didn’t even bother to sing when it seemed that she should. Was she pissed off about having to be part of the show or was she just really really high?
- David Hernandez was the only one I saw that could dance to the rhythm of the musical numbers. But then what do we expect from our hot little gay stripper?
- The choreographers for this show are the worst in the business. Or they’re stoned. Or they just enjoy making up shitty choreography and laughing as the contestants try to follow it through.
- I’m ever so glad the rumor that I read about Paula singing tonight was false.
- The sound problems were ridiculous considering how much money this show makes.
- How much do you want to bet that David Cook was cumming in his jeans to sing with ZZ Top?
- Why was Brooke barefoot during her song?
- Ryan is a massive tool, I had always suspected this but the dancing proved it.
- What’s an Idol finale without a promo for So You Think You Can Dance and a movie or two?
I’m just happy that this lackluster season is over.

I love your comments and had many of the same reactions, esp about our spicy Latin lap dancing gay boy and George Michael’s less-than-graceful aging. (Who am I to talk…)
Didn’t you just gag at Paula standing up, swaying back and forth, like a Holy Spirit-possessed holy roller? Of course, we have become accustomed to this, but it seems she was on her feet half of the evening.
Having dissed the show, I should add that David Cook demonstrates that there are at least a few incredible, humble, talented people in this world to admire. But he needs to replace the mop with a buzzcut.

NW ~ Paula’s drunken antics fail to surprise me anymore. There was one point where she had to grab the back of Simon’s chair to keep from falling down – again. Yes, David Cook needs to shave that head! That mop he has going on is just not working for me. I almost enjoy American Idol, but So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight which I LOVE!
