13 things that I don’t want for Christmas this year

Posted by Chris on 20 December, 2007

Make your list and check it twice, if I get any of the items listed below they’re going right back where they came from! It’s either time for another installment of Thursday 13 or I just enjoy make lists of 13 things.

  1. a cold or the flu ~ my nieces and nephews are fun, but they’re proven plague carriers
  2. to gain any weight ~ I’ve worked too hard this year to go backwards
  3. clothes ~ I’m impossible to buy clothes for even when I’m sure of my sizes
  4. to hear the phrase “War on Christmas” one more time ~ doesn’t the right have anything better to bitch about?
  5. family drama ~ there’s rarely any, but it’s been known to happen and when it does it’s not pretty
  6. snow ~ hate the stuff, especially when we have to drive in it
  7. a winter storm that knocks out power ~ we’re going to be right on the Oregon Coast so it’s always a possibility
  8. a migraine ~ it’s difficult to enjoy myself when my head feels like it’s going to explode
  9. a fruitcake ~ well any fruitcake but the one my mom makes, I love it
  10. chocolate covered cherries ~ my favorite Christmas candy, but not the best choice for a diabetic
  11. dirty diapers ~ Uncle Chris will play with the kids, but diaper duty belongs to their parents
  12. a cold sore or a giant pimple ~ either of those would be great for the family pictures on the 26th
  13. traffic jams going down or coming home ~ it’s already a 5 or 6 hour drive, no need to add to it

  1. I’m also hoping to be migraine free and traffic jam free on the road. We’re driving too. Happy TT.

I hate snow too! Keep it on mountain tops and Christmas cards!
