13 things I want to do on my vacation between Christmas & New Years Day

Posted by Chris on 13 December, 2007

… but won’t get done for one reason or another. All rise, it’s the Thursday 13 yet again. Join in the fun and win a free cookie, only slightly stale and with just a hint of dog drool. How can you pass that up I ask!

  1. Sleep in every single day ~ okay I can get this done no problem
  2. Play EverQuest II ~ I can get this done as well
  3. Read several books ~ no problem here either
  4. Redo my scrapbook ~nice thought, but unlikely to actually happen
  5. Shampoo the carpets ~ I’ll leave that for Bryan, he needs a hobby
  6. Go to the gym every day ~ well every other day is about as good as it gets
  7. Go through pictures that aren’t in albums, label and put them in albums ~ been working on that one for years
  8. Go through all the recipes I’ve downloaded and organize them ~ the stack is 2 feet tall I have to tackle it!
  9. Get around to organizing the upstairs hall closet, the laundry room closet and the coat closet ~ gotta do it!
  10. Organize the closet in our room ~ if it doesn’t fit, it goes out!
  11. Drop off clothes and stuff in garage at Goodwill ~ if I can get it into the car I’m halfway there
  12. Organize garage so that I can park in there ~ gotta do it!
  13. Pickup a case of “house” wine at Trader Joe’s or Facelli’s Winery ~ I’m ever so thirsty!

    Wow, that’s very ambitious.

I’ve started organizing my recipes by putting the ones I find on the internet into notepad files in folders on my laptop and the ones I find in magazines into an expandable file. Then when I use a recipe, if I don’t like it, it gets deleted or thrown out. If I do like it, it gets printed if it’s on the computer and the hard copy is put into a clear plastic sleeve and stored in a 3-ring binder. This method takes up less space and it’s easy to know which ones are tried-and-true and which ones are waiting to be tried. About once a year, I go through the “waiting” stacks and see if there’s anything I am not interested in trying anymore and if so, it gets deleted or thrown out.

I’m tired just reading that list. Heck, I’m tired even not reading that list. So tired in fact that I blew off the gym today so if you go do a circuit for me too.

Happy TT and thanks for visiting my blog.

  3. I hope you accomplish all of them!

Wow, just reading that made me tired (except the first one—I’m good at that one). I admire you for your commitment to getting organized. I just want to get through the holidays without any major problems—that’s my sole ambition. The Flatland Almanack –Damozel (adorable animals behaving oddly)

Wow, that’s quite a list you’ve got there. I’m exhausted just reading it. I hope you get all your items done. Have a great holiday. Toodles, Maryanne

I’d love to do 1 and 3 as well, if I can. I’m sure I’d enjoy 2 also, but I don’t know what it is!

EQII is an addictive MMPORG (multi-million online roleplaying game) – if you haven’t played it don’t! :)
