Link Love for Thursday 13
Posted by Chris on 2 August, 2007
Busy day at the office today so I’m taking a lazy approach to my 10th Thursday 13 and giving some link love. These are some of my favorite bookmarks, maybe you’ll feel the same way.
1. 1090AM Seattle Progressive talk – the Air America affiliate in Seattle. Liberal talk radio what a refreshing change.
2. Rat City Rollergirls – roller derby! One of my colleagues is a ref for the matches. I need to go watch a match one of these days.
3. Barats & Bereta Productions – these guys make the funniest videos. They’re in Spokane and they make me laugh so hard I want to pee myself sometimes.
4. Seafood Choices Alliance – information about sustainable seafood. Need to know which fish to buy, check out this site.
5. Hotel Triton San Francisco – my favorite hotel in San Francisco. Right across from the gates to China Town and just off the Bart Line.
6. Heifer International – a charity that makes a difference. Feel like donating? Give something sustainable like a heifer, a ewe, a water buffalo and more.
7. Goal One Coalition – a citizen involvement statewide planning coalition in Oregon. Run by a friend of mine.
8. Powell’s Books – new and used bookstore. An acre or more of books in Portland, OR. Great way to kill a rainy afternoon!
9. Charm City Cakes – Duff is the man! If I lived in Baltimore I’d order one of his cakes just because I wanted it.
10. Sur La Table – this is my toy store. I love going in here even just to browse. The best store is the one at Pike Street Market in Seattle with racks of cooking tools stacked to the ceiling.
11. Don’t Panic – queer clothing and toys. Lot’s of fun stuff – if it sits still they’ll put a rainbow on it.
12. The Stranger – one of Seattle’s weekly newspapers. This one is my favorite and much more fun than the other weekly paper. Be sure to check out the column I Anonymous for a good laugh.
13. Portalis Wine shop and bar – a wine shop in my neighborhood. Stop in for some tasting or to find a great bottle of wine to take home or send as a gift. The food is good too, but come in for the great wine selection.

I love Powell’s Books. I would go all the time when I was living in Portland.
